During 2008 to 2010, Katherine won nine Bell division tournaments — a current record to this day — and was the runner-up at the PKBGT Open Championship and PKBGT Master’s in both 2009 and 2010. To culminate her PKBGT career, she won the PKBGT Order of Merit for the Bell division back-to-back in 2008 and 2009.
After the PKBGT, Katherine played for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s women’s golf team where she would become an All-Atlantic Coast Conference Selection and Honorable Mention All-American in 2012. At UNC-Chapel Hill, Katherine had seven top-10 finishes, including fifth at the 2014 ACC Championships and eighth at the 2012 NCAA Championships. After a seven year career and two top-10 finishes on the LPGA Tour, Katherine is now the assistant coach for UNC-Chapel Hill women’s golf and is married to Kevin Hamski with their one son, John.
KATIE FLASKERUD (KIRK)
A multiple championship event winner, Katie Flaskerud (Kirk) competed at a high level during her time on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour. Katie was the runner-up at the PKBGT Invitational in 2009. In the following year, Katie won not only the PKBGT Invitational, but also the Precision Girls Championship where she holds the record for the lowest round at 67 (-5). Katie’s career finished with securing the PKBGT 2010 Order of Merit for the Bell division. Afterwards, Katie enrolled at East Carolina University and played for the Pirates on their women’s golf team.
Katie competed on the starting lineup in every tournament during her four years on the team and carded several top-5 finishes. At the end of her career at ECU, Katie was awarded the 2015 Dinah Shore Trophy by the LPGA Foundation in recognition for excelling in both academics and athletics. Katie graduated from ECU in 2014, and earned her master’s degree in 2016.
